The Christian Journal, Freeport NY – The Baldwin University Foundation was formed to provide financial assistance such as scholarships and grants to cover tuition as well as books, accommodation, food, clothing and transportation for under privileged students in Africa.
To support the University programs, the Foundation host a Fundraising event in the United States every year.
This year’s Fundraising Dinner Dance was held at Freeport Yacht Club in Long Island.
The chairman for the event, Mr. Lloyd Lozanne in his remarks took the opportunity to thank Dr. Akwasi Achampong and Dr. Afia Achampong for having the vision to create such an organization that will not only help educate but will also help assist under privileged students who are looking to better their status of life in the continent of Africa and Ghana in particular.
He thanked all the board members, namely Dr Akwasi Achampong, Dr Afia Achampong, Joan McCroud, Dr Dadrine Hine-St. Hilaire, Dorette Headleyu, and Dosley McNeil for their time and dedication to make this worthy cause fructiferous. He thanked all the attendants and hoped they will continue to support the organization.
The founder of Baldwin University College, Dr Akwasi Achampomg in his remarks was very grateful to the invited guest who took time off their busy schedule to make it to the event. Dr Orafidiya the special guest speaker of the evening, in his speech said some of us here who hail from the continent should not forget how far we have come he encouraged each and everyone to dig deep into the pocket and contribute generously.
